The society mourns Arch Joel Kateregga

On behalf of the Architects fraternity, the President, Uganda Society of Architects and the Chairman, Architects Registration Board extend heartfelt condolences to the family, friends and in-laws of the Late Architect Joel K. Kateregga.

The Architectural profession has lost a pillar on which the profession leaned locally, regionally and globally.

Architect Joel K. Kateregga was a member of the PPDA Appeals Tribunal. He was a Past President of Uganda Society of Architects (2004 – 2005) and Past Chairman, Architects Registration Board (2005 – 2009). He served on a number of Boards including: Architects Registration Board and National Social Security Fund. At the time of death, he was the Managing Director/Co-coordinator –Eco-shelter & Environmental Consultants.  He was instrumental in the revival of the East Africa Institute of Architects and participated in the drafting of the Architects conditions of engagement and scale of fees among others.

Our condolences go out to the immediate family, Eco-Shelter family, the people of Buganda and Uganda and the built environment family, particularly the architects.

We thank God for the fruitful life of the Late Architect Joel K. Kateregga.

May the almighty God comfort all at this dark moment.
