July CPD. Theme: The Business of Being An Architect
July 26 @ 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm
When the student graduates, they are thrust into a working environment whose realities contrast the expectations of a glamorous “star-architect’ profession. The slow-down in Uganda’s construction sector, coupled with growing demands from the more literate and knowledgeable clientèle, versus meager pay in the industry mean that the architect needs to strategically position themselves for success.
Practices, whether small or large, should understand the changing needs of institutional customers, emerging challenges of design and project management, economic climate driven by the Government’s agenda and seek out new ways to differentiate their service and stand out in the region.
The July CPD will look at:
- The journey from Intern to graduate Architect to practicing Architect.
- Running a Practice (Client Relationships & Staff Team Building)
- Managing and growing your money
- Arch Robert Henry Kiggundu
- Arch Moses Mukisa
MODERATOR: Arch. Phyllis Kwesiga
